1. Trade and Border Expertise

We understand the realities of cross-border trade, including customs procedures, ECOWAS trade protocols, AfCFTA, rules of origin, non-tariff barriers and the practical challenges faced by small-scale traders.

2. Strong Grassroots Experience

Our work is informed by direct engagement with cross-border traders, women traders, trader associations, border communities and border agencies. This enables us to develop solutions based on real experiences rather than theory alone.

3. Communication for Trade Development

We specialise in translating complex trade policies, regulations and procedures into simple, accessible and practical information that traders and other stakeholders can understand and use.

4. Digital Solutions

We support the use of technology to improve trader registration, identification, verification, information sharing, data management and access to trade-related services.

5. Evidence-Based Approach

We use research, field assessments, stakeholder consultations and trader experiences to identify problems and develop evidence-based recommendations and interventions.

6. Multi-Stakeholder Networks

We work across the trade ecosystem, connecting traders, government agencies, customs authorities, development partners, financial institutions, technology providers and civil society organisations.

7. Gender-Responsive Approach

We pay particular attention to the needs of women and small-scale cross-border traders, recognising the specific economic, social and safety barriers they may face at border crossings.

8. Practical, Results-Oriented Solutions

Our approach goes beyond identifying problems. We help stakeholders develop action plans, communication strategies, grievance mechanisms, digital platforms, training programmes and stakeholder coordination systems that can be implemented and monitored.

9. West African Perspective

Our work is grounded in the realities of trade across ECOWAS borders, giving us an understanding of the regional nature of cross-border commerce and the importance of cooperation between neighbouring countries.

Our Commitment

We connect people, information, technology and institutions to make cross-border trade more accessible, transparent, inclusive and efficient.
